Wellness Project Management
Recovery studios and bathhouses ask more of a building than almost any other tenancy. Ice baths, saunas and hot and cold pools bring water, power and ventilation loads that need settling before the lease is signed. We work client-side, holding the program, the budget and the approvals so you can get on with opening.

Your Trusted Wellness Project Managers
A wellness project manager works for the operator. We plan and run the project that gets a recovery studio, bathhouse or wellness centre open: site sourcing, feasibility, approvals, procurement and tendering, then oversight of the fit-out. Specialists design it and a builder builds it. We keep all of them in the right order and report to you.
When a wellness project runs late, the cause is usually the site. A bathhouse needs floor drainage, waterproofing and a plant room that a standard retail tenancy was never designed to carry, and operators tend to find that out in design, after the lease is signed. We ask about ceiling height, floor loading and plant access while the lease is still a draft.
Our wellness project management covers as much of the program as you need, from site sourcing and budgeting through to opening day. Some operators hand us the whole rollout, others bring us in for a single site. Program, committed spend and open risks sit on a live dashboard, which matters most when one site is trading while the next is being built.

Where we work inside wellness
Wellness covers a lot of ground. A recovery studio, a bathhouse and a day spa put very different loads through a building, and the differences turn up in the plant room well before they turn up in the fit-out.
We offer our project management consulting services for:
Recovery studios, including ice baths, saunas and compression therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen suites
Bathhouses, including hot and cold magnesium pools
Infrared studios
Day spas and treatment rooms
Wellness additions to operating hotels, hostels and clubs
Most wellness operators are building a network, and the second opening should cost less than the first. That saving comes from the early work: site sourcing, the operating model and procurement decisions made before anyone starts drawing. After each opening we review how it ran, so the lessons carry into the next site.
Ayres Consulting works with wellness, fitness and hospitality operators across Australia from offices on the Gold Coast and in Sydney. Most call us when the next opening is bigger than the last and the founder can no longer run it from their inbox.
